How does one get set up with a blind date?

I don't know about your area since im in Texas but most people I know that go on blind dates go on them through friends or personal ads.
You can find or put an ad in your local paper or online, there are sites like yahoo personals or dating sites, also myspace.
Every blind date i've ever been on was set up by a friend I would recommend these over ads simply because your friend knows you and you don't have to worry (as much) about the person just being ..out there. But try it out. A close friend of mine put an ad on a site called..morefishinthesea (i think thats what its called) and she found a nice man.
