Sympathy for Crazy Diaper wearing AstorNUT job like Lisa Nowak?

I agree with you. The diaper lady will probably get her charges reduced to assault. Men who commit the same crimes as women are treated much more harshly. As a woman, I hate this. Women need to take responsibility for their actions just as much as men. It infuriates me when a female teacher screws her 13-year-old male student and gets probation. If a male teacher had sex with a 13-year-old girl they would lock him up and throw away the key. When men do something wrong they're treated like beasts but if a woman does the same thing (especially if she's white and blond) she's treated like a little kid and slapped on the wrist. It's infantalizing to women. I bet this astronaut woman will pull the diaper card and say she's crazy and get off with a spanking and probation.

OK, here serious back atcha. Many things bother me, but mostly the issue I see is illegal aliens, the medical crisis, the welfare crisis, and so much more. It takes a special kind of media to spin a story way out of reality. There is no evidence that this male astronaut led Nowak on or not. Men can say anything they want to seduce women, but wait, that is also true for women too.

The plain facts I see are this:

1-A person must be truly dedicated to be locked up in a metal box and set on top several tons of expolsives to be shot out into an area where you survive only by the barest amount of materials and a finite amount of oxygen. Me, I would NEVER go there. No, sorry, but I could not help but wonder if some mechanic was distracted with shop talk, or some engineer was thinking about what to have for lunch, or even of those brave souls who put in overtime at the begining of a countdown. Never, not me.

2-Of the dozens and hundreds and maybe thousands of professional astronauts, there is only one kook? Honestly, there are other professions which have become a verb for crazy behavior, like "going postal". So if this woman was a postal emplyee, she might be noticed by family and friends and not many others. It is because she is a rare element that shows astronauts are really human beings that we all flock to ebay to bid on stuff about her.

3-It sounds like it is more of a situation of you having a problem with women myself. I have read of terrible criminals, sadistic rapes and tortures who all get life and get out in less than 15 years for good behavior much less. Prisons are overcrowded, so you are worried this mace spraying woman is equal to a serial murderer? Hardly friend.

Maybe it bothers you, but get a grip and a life. There are bigger things in life to worry about.

But, the fact is...women are still seen as fragile and tender and weaker. Men are strong and mean and rough.

I can only figure it this way. As a dad of two boys (4 & 5) and a little baby girl...it is much harder for me to enact discipline on that sweet little girl even though she can be as rotten and mean (if not more so) than those boys. Maybe it's because girls show their emotions and feelings more and we empathize with that.

However, this woman is an itelligent adult professional and I don't think she should be treated any differently than a man in this case.

completly agree. Women deserve evey equal right as men, EVERY EQUAL RIGHT that includes the right to reconized as an intelegent person who is responsible for their own actions in a court of law. I am so tired of men commiting adultry (or breaking up with their wife to have an affair) and being demonized (which they should) but when women turn around and do the extact same thing it some how the mans' fault at fulfilling her needs?!!!!!

Sorry I ranted a bit, but still... yeah!

Before we hastily condemn this woman to prison, we should let the courts take into account such things as the weapon that was actually used in this crime. Apparently, the intent was thwarted before serious damage was inflicted. That said, she will have to answer to attempted murder charges but I am willing to bet that a psych exam will determine that she blew an O ring and she will receive a sentence to a mental ward. Rightly so, since she has otherwise served her country well before she went off the deep end.

I do believe this lady had murder on her mind. She had a " murder kit, mace,tape,knife,etc". so I do not think she was going to sit down with her love rival and chat. Another thing what was with the diaper? She must have had to stop for gas at least twice so she could have taken a fast whiz on the fuel stop. She can thank Anna Nichol Smith for getting her off the front page so soon. If it had been a slow news week we would still be hearing about it....Diaper Lady who?

NASA, that's why. No, America thinks the guy was like an Alpha Male Astronaut and the two girls were just having a crush, like they were under him and not equal. That side will sell more stories, I suppose. honestly I haven't been following the story, I like the idea of diapers, was this story made up to sell adult diapers?

well every case is different but id be worried how you can get into this sitution and be an astronaut,really is this all nasa has to offer??dont those people have to be top notch?see any of that??cant be a dumb astronaut,male or female.

Because women are superior to men. I know that sounds sexist, but men are expendable like cattle. It is the female who is the true human.
