Here's a good one that i can't understand?
I live in a town house in Mcpherson KS the people two door's down moved out about one year ago they left there cat. They just let it run. well the cat did what cat's do. Now 5 kittens and momma have moved in under the front slab of my porch. I called the humane suciety what a joke that was. They told me they can't help they don't come get strays. Why do we need them if they don't help where does the money go. I don't know if i will get any more pet's from there. In the mean time look's like i know have my 3 indoor cat's and 6 new mouths to feed. Now i know why people have so many pet's dog's or cat's they don't want to see them put down. WHAT A JOKE. Where can i find another good site that i can post this .
Thank You for reading this

Alright try again. Round up the kittens and mother and place in a carrier and take and leave on the doorstep of the Human Society at night. Then they'll find homes for them.

Hello! I just happen to stumble upon this.
I am appauled that the Humane Society would do that. (The one here in Vegas would of at least directed you to a place where the animals could be helped.)
The best thing to do, is either go to your local veterinarian, and ask them if they could give you a list of local no-kill animal shleters. (No-kill means the won't "put down" the mother cat or the kittens.)
If they don't help, the next best thing you can do is go to your local Petsmart and ask them. Most of the time, they're happy to help you get to a place that the kittens and mother will be well taken care of.

Those are the only two Petsmarts I could find that are near your area. (I might be wrong, so look again.)
I'm a former employee at Petsmart, I delt with cases like these before, and most Petsmarts offer Cat Adoptions in-store. These adoptions are provided by a local no-kill shelter. So they'll be able to help in a little way.
I hope you can fix this problem, and I think it's really great for you to step up like that. :] The world needs more people like you.

Go to petfinders.org and list the momma and the kittens for $5 each.
I would call the humane society back and ask them what you can do or who you can call. Where I live, animal control will trap any strays (and I live in a low to medium income county, nobody is rich here). The humane society and animal control are two different organizations. Also, do a research for your city and find rescues and shelters. Contact them. Also, if your local paper has a section where you can write into and voice your opinion, that may make you feel better, also.
Good luck.

You need to box up the cat/kittens and take them to the Humane Society. They don't have the funding resources to rescue cats out in the wild (cats can survive outside of a home environment, it's just not a healthy way for them to live). Your neighbors were idiots and if you can find their forwarding address you should send them an anonymous note about being responsible pet owners.

Unless it is a well funded system (such as New York City), the local Humane Society or ASPCA chapters do not provide their own officers for stray or nuisance animals. Call your police department's non-emergency number and ask them who handles animal control issues in your area. Around here, the city police departments have Animal Control officers - and the county has a seperate Animal Control division - who will come pick up the stray/nuisance animals to take them to the Humane Society.
Just so you'll know... unless your local Humane Society is a "no kill" shelter, they will likely euthanize and nursing puppies or kittens brought in to the shelter, as they do not have the resources to care for them.

Kansas Animal Shelters receive pets from:
* stray animals
* relatives when an owner has passed away
* humane organizations and animal control agencies
* owners who can no longer care for their pets
There is a _huge_ list at,

What if you took the stray cats into the humane society? Would they be able to refuse them? That's absolutely horrible that they won't do anything. Good luck getting rid of them.

you could try the SPCA. humane society and other shelters alot of times pick the animals up from the SPCA right before time for euthanasia. there is a new site called catster. i haven't checked it out yet but i belong to dogster and that's where i saw it. good luck. you could also try to find a cat shelter, sometimes they have foster homes until the cat is adopted.

i know what you mean. they won't come get the,but wait if we bring them in they make us pay for them to take them. if the kittens are yonug(about 8-16 weeks) call local pet stores.they might take them. we are in the opposite boat today. our baby girl (13 1/2 years of love and kitty cuddles) was put to sleep. how can people get animals, treat them as pets and then abandon them? also you might want to check the policy of dropping off the kittens. where we live, we have to pay to take in strays to shelters, but where i work (different city) we can show proof of workplace and they take the kittens in at no charge. there are also no kill shelters or places that will take them and foster them out until adopted. i wish i lived closer to help out and take 1or2 of them off your hands. good luck

I know you feel responsible since the cats moved in...but stop feeding them....there are rescue organizations (other than the SCPA) that specialize in abandoned pets... (If you have a PetSmart in your area they probably can let you know exactly who to contact)...or just look it up on the internet for your area...good luck
