What was the 1970s movie about a car crash where she didn't die but had plastic surgery and goes away?

I saw this movie at the Easter Show at Radio City Music Hall in the late 1970s.  It is about a couple who is in love, perhaps gets married, and is in a car accident.  His mother tells him his lover was killed, but she wasn't.  The mother pays for the woman to have plastic surgery on the condition that she stays away from the son.  The woman complies, but some time later the couple runs into each other.  He ends up falling for her.  I think, at the end, they end up back together.  Please let me know the title of this movie. It's called the Promise.  I saw this movie at the Easter SHow too, when I was 13.  I think it is based on a potboiler book of the same name.

My canines grow to be on the vets place of work immediately for a shot. She has a mole on her face and that i grow to be questioning about having it reduce off. i will wait slightly longer before I decide on-- careful about the completed pig ear element--my different canines likes to devour those.
