Whats the weirdest sandwich filling you have tried? I've just had a ....?
...a mashed sardine in tomato sauce with sliced gherkin on wholemeal, it was delicious. One of my favorites is marmite, peanut butter and alfalfa sprouts and I've heard streaky bacon and rough cut marmalade is good. What have you tried? (I'm looking for things that shouldn't work but do rather than the plain disgusting or unsafe),
Pablo - Hope you asked them to make your crocodile sandwich snappy. Actually I've had Alligator sandwich, it really does taste a little like chicken, if a little chewy

I have 3 favourite sanwiches depending on how my mood takes me.German Pepper Salami and Marmite in a crusty Baton with Maw seeds on the outside is delicious; if you dont like marmite substitute Leerdammer cheese or have both. Also try a toasted sandwich with Extra mature cheddar, Lime pickle and Tabasco sauce. The creamyness of the cheese balances the acidity of the pickle and of course the heat melts the cheese nicely. Finally one guaranteed to keep you going if really hungry - Extra mature Cheddar and Honey in fresh Wholemeal bread , Yummy!

Well, this might take some beating. Many years ago, whilst at school, my classmates and I were taken on an outdoor pusruits week. My friend, Marcus, and I decided to liven this up a little by having a "Who can make the most disguisting sandwich" competition. The loser would have to take a bite of the winning lunch piece. Over the week our efforts were faiely half hearted and feeble, but on the last day I decided to go for gold and made up a sandwich combining two dreaded packed lunch fillings - a lemon curd and egg mayonnaise sandwich. However, Marcus turned up that day wearing a wooly hat, hiding his then longish and curly black hairs. On receiving my lemon curd/egg mayonnaise effort, Marcus then, as he handed me his lunch roll, took off his hat to reveal a completely bald head underneath. The night before he'd taken a razor and some sciccors to his mane and on opening the roll I was greeted with the sight of a ....HAIR SANDWICH. So, after much hilarity, and near to fainting with laughter, I conceded and took a bite of the winner's grub. In Scotland we call lunch sandwiches, or rolls, a "Piece", and so inevitably Marcus' triumph became known as "The Hair Piece Incident". I was still pulling strands of his curly locks from my mouth the next day, and I'm sure I coughed up a furball a week later.
This is a true story, and I ate it, so there you go. Very wierd, many sleepless nights...

Its not weird just delicious: Peanut butter and jam - the best I have had is roast chicken in a sesame seed bun (use only real butter) with ripe avocado. Scrummy!

Rice crispy sandwiches ... but they're not good for packed lunch as the rice crispies go soggy.
Or beansprouts, mayonaise & cayenne pepper (but not too much or it'll burn)
Finally, sliced grapes, avocado & chicken with a scrapping of mayonaise & freshly ground black pepper. (oops nearly forgot, a squirt of lemon juice goes well with this)
By the way, my gran used to eat fruit cake as a sandwich. I can't recommend it as I never tried it ... didn't really fancy it.

Ive had a crocodile sandwich in mayfair london in 1991.
It cost 5 quid and was o.k.
A little bit salty but not bad.

Mm, the Monte Cristo sandwich. Ham, turkey and swiss cheese on bread, then battered and fried, covered with powdered sugar, and dipped in rasberry jelly. Sooo good.

Ok I know this sounds really weird but I ate these when I was a kid and still need one now and then. Ready? Butter and Potato Chips. It is soooo good! And my mom use to eat bologna wrapped around a cinnamon roll - sounds gross? Try it mmmmm.
