I Have a couple of 35mm films that are 2 years out of date, and 1 in my camera, are they alright to use?

I've used old film before.........as long as you're not shooting something important to you like a wedding what have you really got to lose?

If they haven't been hot, then they are probably all right. Like everyone says, I wouldn't use them to shoot a wedding, but for snaps they should be OK. There may be a bit of a color shift. I am a lab manager, and have had film several years old produce usable images.

That said, film is not that expensive. If you'd rather toss and replace, that would be reasonable as well.

Not for anything valuable. If they are Kodak or Fuji and were kept cool they might work ok, but you can expect some discoloration or light imaging.

If you keep film, store it in the freezer or refrigerator. Freezing film virtually keeps it fresh for years. Refrigeration slows it down. Just remember to let it stand and thaw naturally before using.

If they have never been exposed to extreme temperatures or moisture, photographic film is very stable. I store mine in a freezer and have used film over 5 years old without any ill effects. I wouldn't use them to shoot a wedding or anything really important, but I'd go ahead and use it. It should be ok.

If in doubt do not use them.

I will depend on how they were stored prior to use but i would not use them for an important shoot and to be quite honest for all film costs you would be better using now.

The one in the camera may still give you descent photos. if you ask the developers to check for quality or make you a contact sheet before they print them it will save you the cost of printing all the photos.

Yes you can however the color will be unnatural/strange. It's probably better if you use it for an abstract result
