What reason, other than money, would someone have for being glad their father died?

Abuse~~either verbal, physical, or mental~~ I cann't think of anything else it could be. And all of these types of abuse are very damaging to a person even if it was directed to other family members such as the mother.

Maybe they were in pain and had been suffering for a long time...

Maybe their father was abusive to them as a child...

My dad died 2 years ago and he was my best friend. I miss him a ton, but i believe in God and I know that he is in a better place and for the first time ever he is really happy...and that makes me glad. He didnt leave me any money...just debt. He wasnt abusive, and he wasnt sick.

If he (this hypothetical father) had been very sick for a long time, possibly. I could see being glad for him knowing he's in a better place, free of pain or illness.

Well depends on the situation. If the child was abused they can be happy that they don't have to dell with it anymore. If the father was terminally sick sometimes it is just better that they let go. No one wants to See their loved ones suffer.

If someone says that they are glad their father is dead they might feel they werent shown enough love. Maybe the guy was a selfish asshole.

How old is the person, if it is a child, ,maybe neglect abuse or both, if it's an adult, problem with how he treat her/him as a child, the ultimate 'Good for you", but there never should ever be a reason to be happy for ones death.

Maybe he was an evil, mean man who made those around him miserable. Another would be that he was suffering from some long enduring illness and his death ended the pain for him and his family.

well America's next top model judge Janice Dickinson practically caused her dad to have a heart attack and he died, she was so glad she said because he sexually abused her and never had to answer for it

Maybe he was in such pain that it was the only way to stop it. Maybe he was abusive or hurtful.

maybe if their father was in the hospital very sick, and it would be a relief if they were to pass on...
