Can I turn off the auto-login chat feature in gmail?
I'm not allowed to chat while at work, and I don't want google chat to keep automatically trying to connect as if I'm trying to do so.
Is there any way to disable the auto-connect feature?
I've looked in my settings but didn't see that listed as an option.
There is no "connections" option under settings on my account...

just sign out once from chat and logout.
When u login the next time, u are by default signed out..
Thisis how it worked for me.,...

goto settings >> then connections >>select >>use the following proxy >> enter any dummy ip on the host field , enable the >> proxy requires the authetication >> and enter ur desired username and pass >> the next time when start the googletalk it wont be getting connected
>> if u want to Reenable ur connection >> simply select detect proxy automatically >> form connections .
