Why's yahoo messenger keep locking up my computer?
It won't log me in unless I'm already logged into my email; when I click to open messenger, my whole computer locks up, sometimes causing me to have to reboot the whole system; and it crashes at least once a day. Now, I upgraded my computer over the summer, so I know it's not that, and I've downloaded every messenger update (the correct ones), and it's usually understood that updates are meant to get rid of the bugs, not add more.
And my security software is good and up to date (it's not norton or mcaffee).
This isn't a "why does yahoo messenger suck lately" question, I'm seriously wondering what's wrong with it and what I can do (if anything) to make it stop crashing.
PS: it's not just my computer, either...Yahoo messenger often locks up my fiance's computer too, even causes it to crash several times a day.
