  • Is there anywhere in the US where I can start up a free blog anymore?

In 2004, I had a great free blog on Xanga, but then they tried to update and make people pay, and I don't think it's even there anymore.

I know there's blogger, but the pictures we post to the blogs take up space on our Google drive.

So is there anyplace I can go, post stuff for free, and build community?

  • How do I learn the value of an old book?

I have what appears to be a textbook. It's titled "Preparatory Latin Course in English". The author is Wilkinson, and its copyright is 1883 (seriously!). I'd like to sell it, but I don't know what it's worth. Other than E-bay or Amazon, is there a place (or web page) where I can find the value of this book, and any other old books I have?

  • is there any material known that extreme temperatures will not bleed through?

    For example:

Say you have a metal container with extremely hot liquid inside. If you try to grab it, you'll feel the heat. And if the same is filled with something frozen, it will perspire on the outside.

The same goes for plastic, glass, Steel, rubber, styrofoam, porcelain, lead, etc.

Also, I'm sure that if you make it thick enough, it may not bleed through, or not so easily, but what about a somewhat thin material, like that of a thermos or a cup?

Does such exist (no alien technology answers please).

Just a question I've been thinking about for a while.

  • What Psalms do you enjoy reading, and why?

What Psalms do you enjoy reading, and what is it about that psalm (or those)?

For example, Psalm 88 when you're upset about something, because it shows a new light of talking/venting to God.

Or Psalm 121 because it helps you when going through hard times.

Etc...Which ones do you like to read, what do they help you endure (if anything), and why?

  • What are your views on the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ?

    Please explain your answer, too.

Seriously, whether you're a Christian or not, what's your take on it, and why? This is your chance to be creative & honest at the same time.

--Christians, please don't give me a sermon, proof, or scripture reference. I'm looking for personal arguments. If you're a Christian and you've argued this topic, please share with me the take of the other person. Thanks :}>+-

  • What's the background behind the taboo of seeing God's face?

In Exodus 33, Moses asked to see God's glory. God told him that he may see His back, but never His face, and that anybody who sees His face will die.

Why would somebody have to die if they saw God's face? Is there something in ancient culture (maybe Egyptian culture?) that explains this?

Links would be helpful for sources, only serious answers please.

  • What are my rights after being fired from church Job in VA?

I've just been fired from my church job. What are my rights in terms of communication with church friends?

My former boss (pastor) said that upon being fired, if I or my wife were to have any contact with any of the people with whom we'd made friends (regardless of whom contacted whom) then he (pastor & church) would file a lawsuit against me (no regards to Paul's teaching in 1 Corinthians 6).

Can he really file a lawsuit against my wife & me if we have any contact w/ friends from church? It was a big church...what if we see them in the mall or store, or park? We even bought insurance through a church member. Aren't all ties of control over me severed when I'm no longer employed? I didn't sign anything in agreement to this, and I wasn't fired due to any sort of legal issues or misconduct.

    State: Virginia, USA

Please include a link in you answer as to where I may learn more.

  • Do Muslims believe God gave up on the Jews and adopted them as His new people?

I had a Muslim friend once (Sunni) who said that they believed the Jews continued to mess up and disobey God so much that God finally gave up on them, and went to a new people (Ishmael's descendants) 'a people who would actually obey Him'.

But I tried googling this and haven't found any mention of such. Does anybody have any info on this with links? I'm sort of writing something on this.

    Thanks.

  • Why's yahoo messenger keep locking up my computer?

It won't log me in unless I'm already logged into my email; when I click to open messenger, my whole computer locks up, sometimes causing me to have to reboot the whole system; and it crashes at least once a day. Now, I upgraded my computer over the summer, so I know it's not that, and I've downloaded every messenger update (the correct ones), and it's usually understood that updates are meant to get rid of the bugs, not add more.

And my security software is good and up to date (it's not norton or mcaffee).

This isn't a "why does yahoo messenger suck lately" question, I'm seriously wondering what's wrong with it and what I can do (if anything) to make it stop crashing.
