Why does the US government try to hide the truth from the public?

    ALL governments throughout history have hidden or distorted the truth, whenever they see fit. Why? Governments are run by human beings, which are very selfish organisms.

    In democracies like the U.S., we DO expect a higher degree of honesty and transparency than one would find in other countries, so it is especially disappointing when our own government lies and covers up the truth. Voters need to be relentless in voting against officeholders who do this.

    I fail to see what the issue is here. They aren't hiding anything. It's just that putting all this out in the public serves no practical purpose.

    The Brit died because of friendly fire in an inadvertant attack by US aircraft on British forces. Stuff happens. People need to get over it.

    So people keep paying for their healthcare ,vacations, homes,etc.

    Do you see anyone in gov.living in poverty? If they spoke the truth than they wouldnt have jobs.

    Because they would eventually lose there jobs.

    There would also be a rebellion from the people.
