Where is the Paperless Office?
In 1980-something, the invention of computers was accompanied by the vision of the paperless office.
25 years on, and we seem to be using more paper than ever; The avarage business now uses over 80,000 sheets paper per year, and paper use is said to be rising at 8% pa.
So, what happened to us going digital.
My Question:
How paperless, or lack thereof is your place of work?

We are about 70% paperless. We never print out anything that can be accessed on the computer. We would like to be more paperless than what we are right now and are working on it.

We were going paperless when I joined, 13 years later we're further away than ever from being paperless, whilst we recycle all of the paper we can, there's still a lot of waste. Problem is that technology doesn't have a solution to getting information we want where we want it when we want it.

Well to define a paperless office you need the following
1. Computers.
2. Tablet pcs that can be loaded with word documents so you can cary your documents all in one device.
3. 3d design site sheets, hand projectors, for storage of data and etc
Paper will never go out of style. well for now atleast. I work at a hotel and we go though alot of paper every day.
Source(s): Us going ditial, well we have in most parts. but the fact of the matter is to answer your question, for us to go digital, we all want to, but do we have the money and the funds to buy the technolgy to make us become paperless, i myself would really love the touch screen pads and etc, but money is always! the issue at hand. - gandalfLv 41 decade ago
More and more companies are going paperless. The reason for the rise is that there are many more companies now than 25 years ago.

Its a fictional thing.
I like to print things out in case of impending disputes since its more tangible. Also, if something is complex, its nice to have it on paper and mark it up.
