deleting cookies?
I wanted to delete some cookies. I heard they can be used to hack your computer. My son says that if I delete them it may take important stuff out with them.
I wanted to know
if it is safe to delete them if you are computer illiterate,
if there are any that should not be deleted,
how to get to them and how to delete them?
Thanks
I have a Acer (aspire 5000)
with windows xp
not sure about anything more than that

1. On the Internet Explorer 6 Tools menu, click Internet Options. The Internet Options box should open to the General tab.
2. On the General tab, in the Temporary Internet Files section, click the Delete Cookies button. This will delete all the cookies.
If you aren't running Internet Explorer 6, let me know what you are running as it'll be different! This is a safe way to clear your cookies, but deleting cookies will mean that you have to enter log in information at every site again.
