Do you have the Samonella Peanut Butter??

My brother had a jar of peanut butter in his cabinet that was Peter Pan and the serial # ended in 2111. They are saying that those were the jars that had samonella in them. They mostly came from WalMart. How wide spread is this? Do you have one in your kitchen?

yes, i have one jar of great value pb which starts w 2111. and my son has become ill fever 103 which his probs started on the 12th day before recall was announced but doc wants sample from my son to check if he has it for sure. waiting for that, though he seems to be okay today, and my daughter just had stomach pains. my mother in law also has one which is peter pan beg. w 2111. and my sister who is pregnant also has two gv pb jars she seems to be okay. my local news did a poll and out of 100 people 88% had a jar of pb starting w 2111. insane, do you think you will ever buy another jar?

I had one. I had already eaten half the jar with no problems. The serial number started with 2111 rather than ending with it though. I talked to the grocery store where I bought. They said just bring it back to them or even just the lid to the jar and they would replace or give a full refund.

I thought the serial number began with 2111. Is there a difference? And we have two. One GV and I didn't get sick and one Peter Pan. And I have to agree....how can you get salmonella from peanut butter....what else were they making in that plant?

A few cases of the tainted Peter Pan in Scoharie County, upstate NY.

It is very wide spread. People in 38 states have gotten sick from it. We have a couple jars of it ourself, one is half eaten. Scarry huh?
