Best way to clean hard water stains inside my dishwasher?

I have very hard water and after only a year the inside of my dishwasher has yellowed from the hard water. I have tried running white vinegar through a cycle in the dishwasher but that didn't help much. What else could I try?

try more vinegar...when you clean your coffeemaker it takes more than one tablespoon...try to dump a whole thing of it in the bottom of your dishwasher and run it....if you just put it where the cascade goes, how much difference do you think vinegar diluted with 14 gallons of water will do?

CLR is a great solution if your dishwasher is stainless steel inside, instead of plastic.

My best ammunition against hard water stains is Iron Out. You could load an empty dishwasher with it and stop it mid-wash and allow it to sit about 10-20 minutes and then continue the cycle. I've used it diluted in a spray bottle on my shower and let it sit in my toilet tank. It does wonders for eating through iron deposits.

    I've tried CLR without success.

  • There is simply nothing better than lemi shine. It took off nearly an eighth of an inch of crud from our dishwasher. See the link below, we got it at a local grocery store.

    NO DISHES....

Run 2 cups of CLR through a normal cycle

After that use a hot rinse cycle a couple of times

If more discoloration persist run the CLR again.

    Good Luck~

Try CLR, it is the best, and safest product for hardwater deposits.

I also have very hard water, and I do my dishwasher, and shower heads with CLR.

A package of Tang thrown in there works great. Old trick we use to use while cleaning condominiums.

I'VE ALWAYS FOUND LIME AWAY TO DO THE TRICK. IT'S BETTER TO USE THE GEL. AFTER THE LIME AWAY TREATMENT, RUN THE DISH WASHER CYCLE SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT THE SOAP. THAT SHOULD DO IT.

i use that JEt Dry diswasher cleaner stuff. It works pretty good, and we have a septic system so I have to be careful.
