Very good question that I will explain the purpose of.

The reason Congress went with a resolution and not a binding-bill is that a resolution can not be vetoed... a bill can be rejected/vetoed.

By passing this resolution that doesn't give the president the option of vetoing it, it goes on the record that Congress does not approve of his military actions. A vetoed bill would not go on record but rather, get sent back to Congress for an additional vote.

It really is not B.S. it is a step toward an end to the war in Iraq. It is a shot across the bow of the ship, Bush. He had better heed the warning or he is in for a long two years. It was a political decision to make it non binding. There are a few more steps and then the withholding of funds so that Bush can no longer wage war against the Iraqi people.

Those new leaders in Congress in D.C. just wasted

a lot of time and taxpayers money on a stupid non-

binding decission. It's only purpose was to show Bush

they hate him, but we already knew that. Nothing came

of it. They need to get to work for the people that elected

them and cut the nonsense. I bet the voters expected a

lot more out of them than a stupid non-binding agreement

that took two or three weeks.

they might no longer be in a position to vote, yet "outsiders" furnish a effective service to us. The view from outside the container. All you spot lately living in u . s . of america is what the gov't and media needs you to make certain, yet in different international locations, they do no longer have an similar shops we do, they have ones we do no longer have accessible to us. it may well be smart people to take heed to the reviews of others... I advise, how are you going to even call your self an American, without valuing the reviews of others, irregardless of race, colour, faith, political stance, social status, or the position they stay. isn't this between the middle values of the beginning of u . s . of america?!?!

Those Democrats in congress needed to make a show of opposing the war to pacify the liberal left base (like Cindy Sheehan and her group), but they all know that we need to stay until we accomplish our goals. So it was nothing but hot air.

"Non-binding" sounds similar to the Australian Government's "non-core promises".
