    -7 = 3x - 8

    Add 8 to each side

    1 = 3x

    Divide each side by 3

    1/3 = x

    -7= 3x-8

    when putting -8 to the other side of equation, the sign will change, so it's

    -7+8= 3x which means

    1=3x therefore

    x= 1/3

    and don't worry about the order, it doesn't matter! there's a rule in math about the order!

    you can easily check it by substituting 1/3 into the equation

    i.e -7= 3*1/3-8 -7=-7!!!

  • -7 = 3x - 8

    bring the 8 over to the left.

    +8 - 7 = 3x so it becomes

    1 = 3x so then divide by 3

    1/3 = x

    the answer is (1/3) = x

    -7 = 3X-8

    step one bring all the unknowns to one side and all the knowns to the other side of the equal "=" sign

    .

    so when we take 8 to the Right Hand Side , the sign will become positive

    +8 -7 = 3X

    1= 3 X

    hence x = 1/3

    always remember, equations are easier to solve if you have the knowns and the unknowns on either side of the "=" sign

    Solve the "x" variable > - 7 = 3x - 8

    The equation cal also be written as...

    3x - 8 = - 7

    First: combine "like" terms --- add 8 with both sides (when you move a term to the opposite side, always use the opposite sign).

    3x - 8 + 8 = - 7 + 8

    3x = - 7 + 8

    3x = 1

    Sec: isolate the "x" variable on one side - divide both terms by 3.

    3x/3 = 1/3

    x = 1/3

    -7=3x-8

    3x=8+(-7)

    3x=8-7

    3x=1

    x=1/3
