What is your DSL download speed?
I have SBC DSL Pro. When I download a large file, the IE7 download dialog tells me that my Transfer rate is 150KB/Sec. This is the same transfer rate I had with SBC DSL Express.
Do you routinely get a faster download rate. If so, who is your DSL provider and what level.
I would like to know what actual download speed others achive as indicated in the IE download dialog box. Not what the speed is supposed to be or what speed tests show.

With SBC the cheapest dsl is at 1.5 Megebits or 150Kb/sec, but you can get different plans that have faster speeds like 300Kb/sec or 600Kb/sec but they advertise those as 3.0 Megabits/sec and 6.0megabits/sec I have the 3 Megabit/sec plan and I get like 275KB\sec to 340KB\sec in internet explorer depending on what site I am downloading from. If the site I am downloading from is crappy then the speed will be a lot lower. So I am happy that they are giving me the speeds they said they were.

I have the same package Using SBC speed test I typically get:
Download = 2.0 Mbps Upload = 439 kbps
Note b=bit B=byte 1B=8b therefore 150KB = 1200Kb = 1.2Mb
Using file download speeds is a poor way to measure your internet speed. A more accurate way is to use the following tests.
Try these speed test and compare with your DSL specs.
