How do I transfer my emails/addresses from Outlook 2003 to another computer also with Outlook 2003.?

I just got a new laptop, my old one was dying. I want to be able to keep all my contacts, emails, etc. from Outlook 2003 that was on my old laptop and put them on the new one.

Do I just import the backup file? How do I go about doing that?

I'm on my old PC at this writing and don't have Outlook, but if memory serves:

Transfer contacts with the use of a flashdrive or other external storage means.

    Open Outlook

    click Contacts just to highlight

    File

    Import/Export

Export to a another program or file

export it to a CSV file format (comma separated value)

    copy it to a flashdrive

    Go to the other PC

    open Outlook

In Outlook, click the contacts icon to highlight it

     cl File

     cl Import/Export

 cl from another program or file

 cl Browse, go to the file from which you want to import (name full path)

 cl Map Custom Fields [see your fields on the left, Outlook’s on the right]

 cl the + signs to display additional fields

 cl and drag fields from the left, to the appropriate named field on the right.

     cl o.k.

 The records will read in.
