What's the number of violations one can receive from yahoo answers before they lose all of yahoo privilages?

I just received a violation notice on one of my questions and there wasen't even a single curse word in it but, it was just the mere thought of the answer. Now, I've already read some vulgarity and racism and did not report the abuse on other questions and answers. I just feel that I just got signaled out for some reason and it was only a funny joke and even the answer didn't have a curse word in it.

Update:

I read the community guidelines already nothing stating how many though. Just a discretion, how far does that go ?

it takes a few before you get deleted, but some folks go out of there wat to make malicious reports

incidentally, can I please ask EVERYONE to complain about Violations when they are not warranted.?

A lot of people have been deleted recently after working very hard to get up to a level where they can ask and answer unlimited.

If you get violated for something that is NOT even close to being offensive, please report it with the email header "harassment by another user" and state that you do not deserve this violation. Say that it is harassment and you want the matter investigated and the REPORTERS account suspended.

I will be reporting EVERY one from now on

Lets stop the mindless yobs destroying our work

Just one point though. If you deserve the Violation - take it on the chin !

Curse words, as you know, are not the only reason for getting violation notices. Since you say you've read the Community Guidelines, you can see there are many reasons for getting them. The problem is, there are also people on here who report others for NO reason at all, just because they can. Since the process is automated after reporting, it will still generate a violation. Sorry!

As to the number -- it is the "quality" more than the "quantity" that matters. Simple ones like "not a question" can happen a number of times with no repercussions. "Point-gaming", adult content, spamming & advertising tend to get booted pretty quickly. So, it just depends! Good luck.

I've often wondered this myself, since I've received several violation notices. I will go on to say that a couple of them were deserved, due to my emotional state, and the subject matter was something I felt passionately about. I do think there are myopic individuals whom feel the compulsion to censor others out of their religious ignorance. Don't get me wrong, I am not bashing the religious right, but there are zealots that go off the deep end, beyond reason, and feel the need to squelch anything that goes against their beliefs. Then there are those for what ever reason, that just get out of sorts, just because they disagree with others opinion. Do not let this stand in your way and do continue to contribute humor for Goodness Sake! I, for one could use a good laugh, as do others. Good Day :)

Well, I've been on Y/A since April 2006, and just got my very first violation yesterday for simply asking if anyone had a web site. Duh. I just wanted to visit some of your sites. I guess someone had their drawers in a knot and reported it for whatever reason. What burns me is there are many, many questions on here that need to be deleted and violations sent to the askers--and I don't have to mention all those nasty answers, do I.

I do not report people unless they questions are vulgar or blatant

    spam.

I don't know how many violations you have to accumulate for Y!

to lose all of Y! privileges, or even if the threat is enforced.

If you think someone has got it out for you than you might just want to lay low for awhile. Lately a lot of upper level people have lost their rank because of people that are finger happy on the abuse option. I am not sure how many notices but if you even received one you should start watching for people that are "following" you. If you notice the same person in most of your questions they may be stalking you.

I'm not sure. Good question. I got some jerk that keeps reporting me even though I don't break any guidelines or swear. I just disagree and bring up good points. Sometimes people just want to censor you.
