What is a good city to use for a story?
I'm writing a story project for school, and I need a good city, preferably in California or Florida.
It has to be somewhere where you could put a ranch, but has to have citylife too, close enough to go to school.

There aren't too many cities today you could put a ranch, unless this is a time piece from 50 years ago. If that is the case I would take a look at San Jose, CA which was predominately an agriculturally based economy, but has since become a technology based economy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Jose%2C_Californi...

I would have to say to write about a place you've been to or want to go to. You should know alot about the place so that you can give great details.
