How many people think about the real meaning of Thanksgiving when they sit down to their dinner?

My parents when I was growing up would always tell us the first Thanksgiving story about how God blessed the Pilgrims and how the Indians showed them kindness. We then went around the table and each one of us was able to share our blessings throughout the year and what God had done in our lives. It was and is always a blessing.

True thanksgiving is a state of mind. It must be a constant exercise by an individual wishing to express sincere thanks. Sitting down at Thanksgiving dinner, with family and friends, gives a definite time and means to openly express one's heartfelt thanks and to share with those present. I think most people, to some extent, are aware of blessings when they sit down to this special dinner and many of them do verbally express their feelings. It is a wonderful holiday and has a traditional menu second to none.

I do, i mean unless you just really celebrate thanksgiving for the food you kind of have to think about all the great things that God gives us and i think that is the whole reason for thanksgiving.And when you sit down for thanksgiving and your with your whole family in your nice and cozy house u just have to be thankful.

my family always does. i have to say, though, that i don't think about Thanksgiving much in February.... the holiday, at least.
