You cannot legally drive this vehicle. It needs to be repaired, then you have to get an inspection by DOT, or whoever does them in your state. After that, you need to take the salvage title properly released by all owners, all of your receipts showing the repairs, an odometer disclosure form if the vehicle is less than ten years old, a title/registration application, proof of insurance, and pay title and registration fees for plates and tabs, and transfer of title fee. Then, you can legally drive the car if you have a valid driver's license.

No, you can't drive it until it is inspected. Why are you buying a car with a salvage title anyway? I used to rebuild wrecks. Having been in the business, I can honestly say that there are only two people in my entire state that I would buy a rebuilt car from. The others are either too inexperienced, or would cut a corner to save a buck. Make sure this car doesn't come back to bite you.

"spl" is salvage plates. You can not drive it until it's inspected and found road worthy. With a salvage title you will have a hard time getting it insured. For the most part salvage title equates to a parts car only.
