Why aren't people REALLY careful when they open champagne?

I can't believe people waste so much bubbly. Is it just the pure joy of throwing money away, or do they actually not know that it's possible to pop the cork without losing a drop?

i was at a wine tasting event today at Schramsberg in Napa Valley and one of the sparkling wine winemaker people said the absolute classiest way to open a sparkling wine is with a nice quiet sigh. he said that he has actually done that for over 45 seconds. He then demonstrated and was very cool to hear.

sabering, using a small sword like thing, is really for show and bravado. They did that at a wine auction and opened over 200 bottles of sparkling with the saber and he had bloody hands and glass shards everywhere.

most people probably just do not know the proper way to open the bottle or probably only see it on TV when some sports figure wins something and get it sprayed all over the place.

Yeah, use a wine opener to get something of the cork out of the bottle to open it. If something of that's floating around interior the bottle and can take place interior the glass in case you pour it, take a sparkling dishcloth and positioned it interior a kitchen funnel set over spectacular of a ordinary glass container (ideally a decanter). Pour the champagne by using this equipment and it may come out basically superb, regrettably you will could desire to drink it multi functional sitting or it is going to flow flat very quickly, so provide some buddies a decision and have some relaxing.

I've never drank Champagne with some one who spilled a drop. Popping corks should be avoided, better to strive for a gentle breath as the cork comes out.

The cork comes out very fast and can actually kill some one if they are hit by it. More people die from cork tops then from spiders in the US

Because you can nearly kill your Irish mother by doing so. My friend did the sabre thing to lance off the cork, in doing so she sheared the top of the bottle off and cut her mothers arm. It was a pretty bad cut..on an elderly woman, she went to the ER for sutures..........

Because of course they are dumb & think the bravado of this act is so cool & attention getting. But you're right. Give me a sophisticated & clean & gentle opening. It shows tons of class. Cheers!

If they bought it, then it's theirs to waste as the please. Whatever makes them feel cool and tingly inside. Just know better than to hang out with them.
