I just got out in August... It depends. I've got some good advice for you though. The Air Force generally has 4 and 6 year enlistments. However, a 4 year enlistment will actually mean 4 years of active service followed by 4 years of inactive service (meaning, you don't participate, you're technically out, but you could get recalled though extremely unlikely). The same goes for a 6 year term. Your recruiter might try to talk you into a 6 year enlistment by offering you rank as an E-2 or E-3. I seriously recommend enlisting for 4 years this way if you don't like it so much, it won't be too long before you can get out. Screw the rank, you'll get it fast enough, especially being female. No disrespect but it's true. Just politics. I think you'll enjoy the Air Force extremely, I did. It's a great life. (Much better than any other branch of service)

depends on what your contract says. 3, 4, 5, 6 years. thats up to you. but its a total of 8 years no matter what, you spend either all 8 active or any combination of x amount of years active and x amout of years inactive for you first enlistment.

Well you normally you have to put in 3-4 months before you get anytime off. If you are injured you can leave anytime you think it gets to sever. after about 2 years they give you an aportunaty to actually leave for good. If your in battel the chances off you leaving go down to about 0.
i hope my information help im planning to go into the Naval Air myself.

Depends on how long you enlisted: I think a minimum of 3 years, but it all depends on the "job" you pic. One can re-enlist after the initial time is satisfied.

To enlist for active duty you will sign a four year contract, if you go in as reserves you will sign a 6 year contract.

Four or six years, depending upon your enlistment.
