Just a simple laid back college kid

  • Is it normal to work out more, and be LESS hungry?

The title of the question basically states it, for about a week now I have decided to start going back to the gym. I typically work out for about 30-60 minutes. I find that I don't really have as strong of an appetite as I did being a couch potato and working my desk job. I don't remember ever being this way in the past.

Again, this is only been for about the past week. I have continued to eat, although I don't ever really feel hungry, or if I do the feeling passes by quickly. Is this something normal, or should I just be thankful that I don't have hunger on my mind as much anymore?

  • If a black man calls me the N word?

Would it be alright for me to call him it back?

Serious question. I work security and had a black male steal from the store that I work, upon trying to apprehend him he ran away telling me to "stop chasing me, ni...." you get the point. Would it be appropriate at that point to tell him "I would stop chasing you if you would come back to the store, ni...."?

  • Do I have psychic powers?

So to start off this story. I just got done watching the Twilight movie "New Moon" and I couldn't believe how much I fell in love with vampires. I decided I would try and meet one by hanging out in a dark alley until one swooped down fell in love with me. However, after waiting around for several hours a weird scraggly man stuck me with a needle several times after complaining for me to "get off of his lawn". Now I am seeing weird visions, and I think I can hear words from the future. Has anyone heard of vampires turning you in this fashion, you gaining special abilities from being poked by needles?

  • What is the required criteria one must meet before testing on animals?

Pretty much explains it, I know there is a pretty detailed list of things people must be able to do before they can test on animals for any reason, and I was wondering what the criteria was?

  • Global Cooling?

I for one never really believed in all the "harmful" side effects of global warming, but recent data has come out saying we are now experiencing global cooling.

    http://globalwarminghoax.wordpress.com/2008/02/28/...

I know there was a global cooling scare back in the 80's, but what does this mean for us today, and what does this mean for people like Al Gore?

  • Thinking about getting a Tattoo?

I already know what I want to get if I was to get one, and the general location. I just need to work on size and coloring.

I was wondering what things I should know when looking at where to get it and things to expect when I get it, basically the "things you wish you knew" or the "things everyone should know and expect before they get their first tattoo" deal.

  • Global Warming... I'm not worried, are you?

There has been a lot of information about global warming and there is a lot to go through to find information about how worried I should be about it. I found this interesting, what do you think?

It's true that CO2 is the most important anthropogenic greenhouse gas, but water vapor is by far the most important greenhouse gas. It accounts for 98 percent of any greenhouse effect; CO2 accounts for about one percent, and other gases the remainder. Furthermore, of that one percent due to CO2, 97 percent of that is due to nature, with mankind producing only 3 percent... By far the largest source of CO2 emissions is the equatorial Pacific Ocean. It produces 72 percent of the earth's emissions of carbon dioxide, and the rest of the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic and Indian Oceans also contribute. Combining the factors of water vapor and nature's production of CO2, we see that nature is responsible for 99.96 percent of any greenhouse effect, while mankind contributes only 0.04 percent.

  • Molecular weight, acid titration?

In my lab, we have to figure out the molecular weight of an unknown diprotic acid.

Using a .082 Molar NaOH base, the first equivalence point was at 12.86 mL and the second equivalence point was at 26.81mL of NaOH, from this I have calculated that the moles of NaOH were .0044 so thus the moles of the unknown acid is .004 (at the second equivalence point)

Does anyone know how to go about finding the weight of the acid?

  • Pain with breathing, laughing, and laying down?

This started a few days ago, when I take a deep breath, I sometimes feel a pain in my sternum and in my right shoulder/clavicle. Most of the pain is in the clavicle though and it is especially present when laughing and sometimes with lying down or taking a deep breath. For awhile I could not even take a really deep breath but now I can.

On Saturday night/ Sunday morning I threw up from drinking too much and didn't notice any pain until about monday or tuesday so I doubt it's related but I don't know.

Does anyone know what could have happened? I'm not going to be going to a doctor as it's not enough pain to have me concerned.

  • What would you say?

Last night, (Valentines day) I went on a non-romantic date with a friend that I have had for over a year. We went to dinner than came back to my place and just talked for about three and a half hours. We have never really spent personal time together one on one before this.

I don't know if she has any romantic feelings for me, but I believe that I am starting to have some toward her. Would this kind of activity (just talking for so long) be some indication that she might feel something for me? How should I go about asking her on another date? I wouldn't want things to become weird between us.

  • Would it be awkward?

I was thinking about calling one of my friends and ask her to dinner on valentines day. I don't want to date her, and I know she doesn't want to date me we are just good friends. Would it be awkward if I was to ask her this, or do you think she would just find it as a friendly gesture?
