Can you tell how a person is by the drink they order?

I'm a bartender. I see different people from different walks of life every night. There are the set 'rules' about who is most likely to drink what but I've always been surprised by some people. I had a woman dressed up in fur, jewelry worth more than my car, perfume that would make a priest think naughty thoughts order a draft beer while someone I had to ask for ID from ordered a 25 year old scotch and enjoyed it for over an hour.

In some instances, possibly.

But, for instance, I'd find it weird to see a really hot guy with one of those tropical punch-like drinks full of fresh fruit hanging off the side and a little paper umbrella. Maybe I'm just falling prey to sex role stereotyping? (Or maybe the guy has a really wacky sense of humor which I'd love!)

Me? I love champagne or margaritas (NOT mixed). What does that say about me?

Absolutely. Beer - cheapo; white wine, esp. white zinfandel - gay (men) or b*tch (women and gay men), and so forth... can't exactly reveal everything right away.
