Viper piercings - Anybody have them, experience with them?

Also known as "off center tongue piercings." I'm considering a set, and I'm concerned with the speech factor. Do you end up with a lisp? I have a 10g center tongue piercing that no one seems to notice.

Any "uses" that you've discovered?

Also, have you found a "best" jewelry - labret studs vs. barbells, acrylic vs. ss, etc.

If you've never heard of viper piercings, check out this link:

Thanks -

Rob

Update:

Interesting response - the paired lip piercings are "snakebites" - probably where the confusion came from. Thanks for your answer, though!

Thats wierd, I am a longtime reader of bmezine, and I had always heard of the pair of LIP rings to be called vipers, but no matter....it is pretty likely you will have a lisp for a few days, longer if it takes you longer to get used to it, but it will go away...you can custom order longer labret studs, if balls on the bottom irritate you, but I generally see no reason to do so unless it is a personal preference. I prefer titanium barbells, because they almost NEVER give any irritation, plus they are substantially lighter than SS, which speeds healing(not by a lot, but enough that you will notice it), I know quite a few people who got them both done at once, and had no additional swelling, and no increase of healing compared to a single. It hurts a small bit more, as you are going through a bit of muscle instead of the thin ridge in the center, but it is far from the worse thing I have experienced(try dermal punched conches gaaaahhh i cried). I say do it! and do it now! :)

Source(s): I have pierced both professionaly and otherwise for about 5 years, in addition to the knowledge acquired from hanging out with a lot of piercers and piercees over the years!
