my rottweiler knows how to open every crate i own, and every door in the house that isnt dead bolted
she opened out hotel room in the middle of the night last summer to go pee, if she wants something she gets it, she can open the refrigerator, the dryer, and actually opened the crate that my other dog was in to get him out to play. I love her but i feel like she is the owner and im the dog. im not saying she isnt a good dog, because she is housetrained and social and mannered, but we have no alternative than do things her way
im sorry she is 4, and you cant control her just adapt, she isnt dominant, just determined

My pit was like that at times. I was forced to padlock the crate to keep her in. She sounds really smart and is bored. If you try to spend more time excerising her mind, you might have an easier time. Try to teaching her tricks and jobs. It saved me from being sent insane by her. If you take the lead and give her reasons to obey you the odds will be in your favor. You will probably always have moments of feeling this way but it doesn't have to be all the time.

By their nature, rottweilers are big strong dogs with a stubborn streak that need owners who take can charge of the relationship and are committed to training. Sounds like you need to work on obedience training with your dog with a professional trainer. Rotties will take advantage and control the relationship if you let them.
