this is more of a rant, but i killed a goldifsh i have had for almost a year yesterday, i took my eyes off the gravel vacuum long enough to make sure the bucket wasnt overflowing and

zphllll-squish dead. there has got to be a better way

i have a heap of tanks and i cant imagine this happening in any other tank, goldfish are just so stupid

my dog was eating hills prescription diet I/D for chronic pancreatitis, she was otherwise healthy and died on sunday for no apperent reason, we didnt have a necropsy performed because we chalked it up to a life of illnesses although she was asymptomatic until we opened a new bag of food and she became fussy with her food, now i see hills is recalling dry food, i still have the bag of food, but not the dogs body what do I do next?

i just got a pair as a gift, cute as a button, im going to try to spawn them if my discus doesnt eat them... they are in a 29 with some pencilfish, selawasi loaches and a juv, turq discus named Earl. pH is 6ish and there is a CO2 reactor and lots of plants, im just not motivated to set up a yarn tank which is how i spawned my psuedoepiplatys annularis, any thoughts?

my rottweiler knows how to open every crate i own, and every door in the house that isnt dead bolted

she opened out hotel room in the middle of the night last summer to go pee, if she wants something she gets it, she can open the refrigerator, the dryer, and actually opened the crate that my other dog was in to get him out to play. I love her but i feel like she is the owner and im the dog. im not saying she isnt a good dog, because she is housetrained and social and mannered, but we have no alternative than do things her way

I have a dog who had a non-ovarian hysterectomy, she still goes through hormone cycles, and in the year since her non traditional spay, her behavior has changed, she is more fearful and protective, but certainly not a bad dog. she cant get pregnant, but she is still chemically female, so she gets moody, humps my other dog from time to time and attracts males when she is giving off pheromones.

i have no intention of re-spaying her for the sake of cancer prevention but would you????
