    Details. How low is low?

If you are dropping below 10 psi at idle hot, you have a problem. You can cover it up with Viscosity index improvers like you find in STP oil treatment and Lucas oil treatment. You will not fix it this way. What you have is either low pump output or, more likely excessive bearing clearence. When this happens it is usually all of the bearings and the crank journals. I can tell you to try the sending unit or some other baloney, but you will just be wasting time and money. If you have worn crank and bearings you just gotta belly up.

If you are staying above 20 you are fine, between 10 and 20....ehhh!

how low does the pressure go. its normal for the oil pressure to drop any time you let of the gas, because the pump is not turning as fast, but if it is dropping an insane amount, like from 60 to 10 you probably got a bad pump

Faulty gage, or sludge in the oil pan. When the engine is cool, clogged oil pump pick-up will suck harder on heavy, viscus oil, and the Gage will show high pressure. Run some crank case cleaner then replace the oil and filter. Luck to you.

i own a repair shop, and it can also be a bad oil sending unit on it,when they get hot they will make the pressure drop like this also, actually the truck oil pressure may be fine the unit may be going out,and that may be causing this to happen, and a bad cat will make it run hot and over heat ,and hesitate a lot,try the sensor, that should help, good luck with it i hope this help,s.

Make sure that you are using the correct weight oil. Maybe a heavier oil is needed.

It is not a convertor problem.

Chances are you may have a bad oil pressure sending unit.

could be dirty oil filter or oil pump going out

maybe your pcv is clogged, if not then check your oil pressure switch, usually located above the oil filter, hope this helps.
