Why do people think that they are weak and cannot change the world?

Why does the average person feel like they as an individual cannot change the world? Why does the average person feel powerless and helpless? And why do these people perpetuate this feeling by enforcing it in their daily lives...by saying it..by acting on it...and by thinking it.

Has all of humanity bought into the power structure? Have we all just decided we are individually worthless...and just waiting for the moment for a "leader" for someone to bring change to the world and make everything perfect so that you may follow him? Some great leader that will never exist....because he is impossible....

There is only one hope...its you. You need to stop thinking that one person is helpless. You need to realize that every great person that every fought for anything meaningful was just one person like you. Just a human being that doesn't need anything but their pure force of will.

So what will it be Earth? Will we stay worthless as they want us to? Or will we rise up?

Update:

onelight...you are 100% correct. That is exactly the reason....but I suppose it is just a matter of delivering that message to the people and making them all understand what precious and powerful beings they truely are.

In answer to your initial question...The answer is because. as you stated...they THINK they can't. A person of course CAN...they just THINK they can't.

How can they change that type of thinking ? Increased awareness of a persons Higher Self . . . And...the ' rising up ' actually IS happening as we speak.

First of all, I'm getting sick and tired of seeing "people" like you purporting to have a clear vision of what other "people think," what "the average person feel[s]," that "all of humanity" have "just decided we are indiviually worthless."

Secondly, I'd like a clearer understanding from you about just what kind of power you expect everyone who reads this to exercise. How do you think power is exercised in this society? You do seem to think that "the power structure" of this society is, in some way, important. But I'm not sure whether or not you think that it is a "power structure" that is good for people or bad for people. You seem to be urging people to think of themselves as being, even as just individuals, powerful enough to overrule the existing "power structure." Please excuse me, because maybe I don't understand what you mean, but you seem to be urging people to be vigilantes -- of some sort.

Thirdly, one power that I like to think that I have is the power to persuade -- I have the power and the right to speak my mind about things which I believe are going on which are unjust and which need to be corrected. That is a major reason why I visit this site and the "Politics and Government" section in particular. It is a reason why I've sent a number of letters to newspapers, hoping to see them get printed (and quite a few have been).

But if you want for me to do more than just talk, what else do you expect me to do?

A single drop in a pool of water can turn the pool into ripples that can spread all away around to the outer edges. A single vote or a single voice can do the same in a democracy.

we have to know we need rising up before we are inspired to make change.. everyone.. figures that so long as they're okay ... the world is.. and they dont see it crumbling before their very eyes. We dont need a leader so much as a speaker one who will make people understand that change is needed.
