    use unit analysis - multiply by fractions that are unity.

    Lets say you have B lbs/inch

    (B lbs/inch) x ( 1 inch / 2.54 mm) x (1 kg / 2.2 lbs)

    = (B / (2.54*2.2) ) kg/mm

    Did you mean per SQUARE inch and SQUARE mm? (pressures)

    1 lbs/inch = X kg/mm

    1inch = 25.4mm

    1kg = 2.2lbs

    Setup the equation in sections and remember to cross out the units that are being divided by one another. The remaining units are what you have left.

    Step1)

    1lbs(25.4inch)

    ----------------- = 25.4lbs/mm

    1inch(1mm)

    Step 2)

    25.4lbs(1kg)

    ---------------- = 11.54kg/mm

    1mm(2.2lbs)

    All Together)

    1lbs(25.4inch)(1kg)

    -------------------------- = 11.54kg/mm

    1inch(1mm)(2.2lbs)
