Does anyone have any experience with Whitford Eclipse coating on hard anodized cookware?

I am looking at buying a set of "Cooks" hard anodized cookware from JC Penney. It says it has something called Whitford Eclipse coating which it says is supposed to ensure safe use with metal utensils. I bought a very expensive set of Kitchen- Aid cookware with teflon a couple of years ago and I really got ripped off...the set is a mess. Anyway, I was wondering if the Whitford coating really protects from scratching.

hello fellow cooker. i'd personally go with stainless steel cookware...and then get yourself some nice stainless untencils. if your a newbie cook then get some good teflon stuff and some plastic utencils...makes cooking fun and easy. i cooked with analon and chelphalon for seven years. I'll probably get stomache cancer from the teflon. but about a year ago i switched to stainless cookware....threw all my teflon crap out. You just have to pay attention when cooking...and not try to do the laudry and let the puppy out all at the same time or else it'll burn. and it does cook better. so to answer your question...stay away from engineered coatings.

Source(s): teflon shouldnt be ingested. ever. not even on accident.
