Should I buy Cancun Tours online or wait until I arrive?
Going to Cancun in June with 3 other friends. Want to book the usual trips. Xcaret, Xel-ha, Tulum ect. Should I book ahead on the internet or wait until I get there ? Which is cheaper ?

Do your research home and when you get to Cancun book your excursions. You will have something to compare. I e-mailed one of the tour companies and they told me to wait till I get there and if I booked directly with them they would give me 10% off the price. This was for a snorkel trip to Puerto Morelos. It's hard to plan now for June, the weather could be lousy and sometimes it's hard to get your money back.
Have a great trip but do your research first. Enjoy

Check out Stells'a answer on the tours - she covered the question exactly right. Great Job!
Oh - and have some fun in Cancun besides visiting the ruins.
Going to Cancun to visit ruins as a primary goal would be a little like going to New York City with a primary goal of going to the Met.
The Met is cool, BTW, and so are the ruins in Xel-ha, Tulum, Chichenitza (sp?), etc - and - but ruins is your thing, you can stay much closer to the ruins (and lodge and travel much more economically) by staying an hour or two south of Cancun.
Cancun itself, on the other hand, is far more about sand, sun, and fun ...
No matter what - you'll have a great time in that part of Mexico.

its actually cheaper to drive to Xcaret, Xel-Ha or tulum. the price for a tour will run you $80-$120 bucks.
Cheaper- if your order them on-line, some 10-20% cheaper.
Expensive- Hotel tours.. way to much
Let me know if you have other questions, we travel with our 5 years old son and never had any problems.

I would wait till you get there. Inside your resort/hotel there should be a couple of travel/excursion companies that will have offers. Some places include meals, drinks, etc. Check them out and see what you think is the best deal. We used Chavez Travel a lot when we have been there. Never any problems and the help is very friendly. Stay away from any one trying to sell you something at the airport. It will end up being a sales pitch for a timeshare. Have fun!
