Scars shouldn't reopen... they're only marks on the skin, not wounds...if you've had a scar for a few years then the wound that was there should have healed, if it hasn't then there is clearly a problem.

Several years is a long time, but an infection or stitch leftover from the op may cause a scar to open up again.

It very well could if you have very thin skin to begin with. Another cause could be if you have gained weight which would stretch the skin and since scar tissue doesnt stretch it very well could tear open. Some people have trouble scaring to begin with too. I would get it checked out tho if i were you since it could even mean you are lacking something in your system.

Yes. Nutritional deficiency maybe. A small dormant abscess going active, probably quite close to the surface near the scar also possible. Focus maybe foreign body left behind. A rare event.

I'm very sorry but you need to put her down! Pitbulls are like ticking time bombs, no matter how you raise them. It is not your fault that Hope is acting like this! From experience you need to put her down. My family member left for a weekend and I was house sitting somehow her half pitbull dog got in the house and attacked , ate, and killed the family cat that it had known ever since she was brought home at 6weeks! We put her down because she was dangerous and i am sorry to say so is Hope. In the future stay away from pitbulls and try another kind of dog! It is just a matter of time before something really bad happens, you are the only one who can stop that from happening. You can do that by putting her down!

Scars are never as strong as normal tissue, but obviously the vast majority are good enough to withstand the stresses they're asked to endure.

I would think that you had an underlying infection that has weakened the tissue!
Probably an absess. You probably need anti-biotics so a trip to the doc's for you !
And you could probably do with your blood tested for any deep rooted infections.
Don't wait too long as it may lead to septicemia, which is an extremely nasty and dangerous bug!

Repaired tissue is not as strong as regular tissue, so it is possible that your scar reopened from less force than you would have expected.

Yes, It can open up again, no matter how hard you think you have stitched it up, it would open up again, because it still matter's to you alot, and its not bad, it means you are human & you are a caring person

i wouldnt of thought so unless u need to have an operation on that exact spot where the scar is..i wouldnt have thought that it could open on its own
