I filed 21 months ago with my wife. She is dragging it out for all the benefits she can get out of it. Your situation may be different that mine. If you work, do not want more than half, can agree to share custody of children if involved and at least be able to have communications with your ex then it could be 3 to 6 months

That depends on how complex your situation is. My not problem divorce took about 9 months I think. It was not contested and everything was amicable. No kids and easy property disposition. I didnt even hire an attorney or go to court.

In the state of Ohio if it is a dissolution you have to wait 30 days from the date the agreement papers were signed. Then there is a hearing and it is done roughly 8 weeks start to finish if you have a fast lawyer.

It really depends on where you live and what the laws are. I live in Mo and I filed in Nov 2006 but didnt get into court until last friday.

in my state when you file you then have to wait for a court hearing then if you have children its 6 months before it becomes final it is a long process.i find it amusing that it takes three days to receive your marriage licenses but six months to end it,it should be at least a month wait to get married i think

Mine took 90 days. After the judge signs, you have to wait another 30 days to be sure your x spouse doesn't contest it. I live in TN but every state is different. It takes a year in NC.

it depends on if you and your ex agree on everything before the court date-If you can agree on everything from division of assets to childcare-etc than relativley quicckly unless you live in a state that makes you wait a period of time. My ex and I file in Decmber and our divorce was final by May-we were able to agree on everything before hand.
