Why don't we adopt Mexico's immigration laws for the U.S.?

Mexico has a streamlined immigration law, only some of which I will list here. Check it out for yourself if you don't believe me. Their law states:You must speak the language, visitors DO NOT have a voice in politics, visitors MAY NOT fly the flag of their country of origin, YOU MUST BE IN THE COUNTRY LEGALLY OR FACE IMMEDIATE DEPORTATION AND IMPRISONMENT, those helping illegal immigration are JAILED.

The list goes on. Basically it sounds like do as I say, not as I do? You decide.

Update:

I agree with wizzera2. Notice how none of the pro-illegal writers responded to my question. It makes me wonder. Why is it then that the politicians don't listen?

Update 2:

Well spud, your completely avoiding the question. I really don't have a problem with people coming to the U.S., just coming here illegally then expecting us to take care of them. Also, if you do come here, we will help you out but not indefinitely. Even those who are Americans can't be on welfare forever, there are limits. You want to fly the flag, be my guest. You want to make a comment, it is your right. You want to come into my country illegally and then have ME pay for it, when there are clearly more people here that need my help, NO.

Can you imagine going to Mexico and demanding free schooling, free medical care, English versions of all official documents and phone instructions and signs, etc.....?

And the Mexican gov't has the nerve to balk at our desire to have a border fence?

IT's all b/c of the spineless politicians -- both Repub's and Demo's -- who are pandering to the hispanic vote, which, sadly, does not view this issue with logic or sympathy for citizens.

Yes, you are absolutely correct, and the list does go on. The difference in perception is completely hipocritical.

I am a resident of Mexico and if the legals (never mind the illegals) in the US had to abide by the regulations which I have to abide by there would be an unbelievable hue and cry in the liberal US community.

I cannot work without the express permission of the government (you have a chance after 5 years) and have to prove that I have the funds necessary to support myself. And, the Mexican authorities kindly insist that I take the opportunity to prove every single year for 10 years that my status has not changed. And, they are happy to accept a hefty annual fee for my trouble.

Do like I say and not like I do.

    It's a GREAT idea.

But it won't happen, unless there's a miracle.

Too many people have been brainwashed by propaganda (the warm fuzzy, cry a tear pro illegal stories) on TV. Or have bought into the line that our economy will collapse if we don't have illegal aliens here. (Preying upon our fear of loss and upon our greed.)

Too many people have been led to believe that it's racist to protect your culture and your homeland.

But the fact of the matter is, once the United States becomes Mexicanized, it will basicly be governmed by Mexico. The current Americans of European, black, indian, legal hispanics, etc. will lose their political and economic voice. They will be marginalized to hiding out in tiny ethnic enclaves in the US.

Mexico will still be Mexican, and the US will be all but Mexican. So what will happen to you and your children? These people won't protect your rights. These people are ethnocentric they're interested in what's best for their race.

So what will you do? Where will your children be able to go?

Do you really think you'll be able to immigrate to Japan? Or China or India? You'll be a refugee with no homeland.

It's all a numbers game. These illegals are pumping out babies like crazy -- at least 4 per woman. Foreigners coming in from the Middle East are pumping out babies like crazy too. The Middle East in the future will own part of the North American continent as well.

    You'll have lost your homeland.

Europe is facing the same crisis.

I totally agree with the view that the United States should have similar (if not the same law) for immigration within this country.

Why such isn't being done? Only Bush seems to know for sure what it is that he thinks to gain by undermining the immigration laws that we already have within this country - and ignoring the fact of the Mexican immigration code and the treatment that Americans would receive if they attempted to do what millions of illegals from Mexico are doing within the United States.

Why? "Politically correct" comes to mind. Major financial gains to be made for 'big business' and his buddies that own those companies comes to mind as well. Even those that many think of as 'liberal' that are in politics are no better - just check out their business practices and see if one doesn't see a pattern (not that I any longer see Bush as anything CLOSE to a 'conservative').

In typical pro-illegal tradition, Spudmustang totally and completely IGNORED the question.(regarding adopting Mexico's immigration laws for the U.S.)

    WHY IS THIS??

And by the way Spudmustang, no matter what the reason the illegal aliens are here does not make it any LESS illegal for them to be here.

Your tactic of trying to change the subject (turn the tables) and stereotype homeless people as all alcoholics and people on welfare "over-breeding" as justification for illegal aliens is also wrong.

Yes there are problems in the U.S. that also need fixing (just as in ANY country), but that doesn't mean we should just throw our arms in the air in despair or bury our heads in the sand and IGNORE the illegal alien invasion.

And the Liberals think of the Conservatives are too difficult whilst it is composed of immigration. this is humorous that Mexico is extra difficult on unlawful immigration than we are. of course they anticipate people to stick to their regulations, in assessment to the U. S.. The illegals in this united states of america cry because of fact they don't think of they have rights. nicely they don't in the event that they're here illegally. Our shape replaced into written for the voters of this united states of america not voters from another united states of america like Obama believes. I additionally don't comprehend that if Mexico is this way of terrible place to stay why those people have a situation with turning out to be US voters like immigrants interior the previous (or maybe choose to stay here). learn English, stick to our regulations, know our flag, etc. They do none of those. I actual have worked with people from international and maximum of them felt coming to the U. S. replaced into their salvation. They got here here legally, found out English, respected our flag, observed our regulations, became voters and made the U. S. their abode. there has been no different great group of immigrants who've envisioned us to learn their language (Spanish) to establish that them to stay to tell the tale. somewhat they struggled to learn English so they could stay to tell the tale on their own.

I find it amusing that "i'm my own politician's.... " blames Bush and his corporate supporters for illegals. There appears to be even more support for illegal aliens in the Democrat party. The Democrats want the illegals for their votes. More Republicans than Democrats have voted for things like the fence along the Mexican border.

How can union members let the Democrat party push for more illegals and for their citizenship. The illegals hurt union members the most. They have held down and even lowered wages for American workers.

Illegals are a large part of the cause of increased health insurance costs and cancelled and reduced coverage by employers. The liberals cry about the poor uninsured illegals. Ha! Just go to your local public hospital emergency room and see how much it costs to treat the illegals. These costs are transferred to Americans in higher taxes and health insurance premiums.

Both the parties have thrown Americans and our culture to the wolves for different reasons.

I suggest that we have the IRS disallow all deductions for illegal aliens contract labor and wages on their US income tax returns as part of the audit process. How long would US businesses hire illegals if they couldn't deduct their wages and cash payments to them?

Mexico's immigration laws are strict and harsh but I agree with them. Its a felony to be illegally in Mexico. They enforce their laws and that's as it should be. I agree we need to adopt immigration laws just like Mexico's.

The Indians were not indigenous to this land having migrated from several other continents.

There were no immigration laws against mass immigration to this land until 1924.While there were a few exclusionary laws against certain people and country's in the 1800s,the first law against mass immigration was passed in 1924. My ancestors arrived here in 1702. They were not illegal aliens nor were any of the other settlers.

We have federal laws against anyone entering into this nation without the legal verification to do so.

Well, although I think the U.S. government needs to set more strict laws on immigrants, I think Mexico's law is a bit harsh. I am all for people bettering themselves as long as American's don't suffer b/c of it. I wish immigrants knew more about American history. Maybe then they would realize the sacrifices American's have made yesterday and today. Maybe then would they feel proud and grateful to be part of this country. I'm not saying that goes for all immigrants, but I would definitely say the majority.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that this is America, not Mexico. Therefore, if I want to fly the Mexican or Chinese or Confederate flag that is my right under freedom of speech. Mexicans really don't have a voice in American politics, but honestly neither do Americans unless they have a lot of money to "contribute." Immigrants who enter the US illegally do face immediate deportation. The simple truth is that in order to be deported, you have to be caught, and that is obviously not happening to any successful degree. Those who help illegal immigrants (and are also caught) are prosecuted. I think that you, like many people, simply don't understand that the reason there are so many Mexican immigrants here is because they're reasons for immigrating are much stronger than the fear of encarceration or deportation. If the tables were turned, I'm certain that many of the pious "defenders of our nation" would be crossing the border as well in order to feed their families. The US government is, in part, to blame because of it's decision to give free medical/social care to illegal immigrants. But on that same note, why should we be feeding homeless people? They can work. They're just a bunch of alcoholics that don't want to pull their own weight. Why should have to pick up their slack? If they want to live under a bridge and dig for scaps in a dumpster, that is their choice. In fact, why should we be taking care of the elderly? They've had their entire lives to get things in order and fund their golden years. If they're eating dog food to survive, that's their problem. And don't even get me started on those over-breeding welfare moms who have fifteen kids so their welfare check will be that much bigger. Hey, if they aren't responsible enough to close their legs, they should be ones footing the bill. After all, this is AMERICA! And in America we don't care about anyone else but ourselves. Who cares if some little kid doesn't have anything to eat. He's a Mexican, so he can starve. Not my problem. My kids are well-fed. And if his parents can't get a job down South, that's not our problem. Nevermind the fact that they do the jobs that most Americans won't do, they don't deserve the right to feed their kids and make their lives better. America for Americans! Everyone for himself! If you don't talk like me, get the **** out! If you don't look like me, get the **** out! If you don't think like me, get the **** out! I guess if that's the kind of country you want, then America really isn't any better than anywhere else. We just like to think we are.
