golden fish? what is this a goldfish? if it's a goldfish, it shouldn't be in a tank with angels as they need entirely different water conditions (coldwater/tropical) and they WILL nip fins of other fish.

or is it a golden sucking loach/chinese algae eater? in which case they will nip and suck off other fishes slime coats/eyeballs and is generally aggressive, they should really only be in species tanks but i've yet to find a fish store to recommend that!

Its a type of raging u know! Fishes which are already acquainted with the tank always treat a newcomer badly. In ur case u might have newly introduced the angel.

Iam having Goldfishes and Angels in the same tank from the very beginning. There is no problem with them.

But Ive seen Angels biting Betas' tails.

It is said that the golden fish eats the fins of the angel because they want to fly. :)

It is because your golden probably doesn't get along with it. It is common.

Fish are like humans, and all other animals/pets/species. Maybe your gold fish is feeling intruded upon, so it might just be feeling defensive. Try getting a screen in your tank to divide it in half.

you dont say what kind of fish is golden has it just started or has it been going on a long time,or have you just added a new fish, i would seperate them now for the moment until you know if they were compatible, x
