Buddhist texts?

The original Pali cannon was written in Pali texts

and later came the Sanskrit texts, is this true

and what about the Tibetan Buddhist canon and Mahayana canon,

were they written in the Tibetan and Chinese language?

    The Pali Canon is an unbroken tradition from the Buddha.

    I'm not sure how the Sanskrit texts fit in. Some of them pre-date Buddhism.

    The Mahayana Canon was written in Sanskrit, but that has been mostly lost. The authoritative version today is written in Chinese.

    The Tibetan Canon came along much later. I think of it as the Mahayana Canon plus additional teachings.
