There's no such thing as a best computer, there's a best for you, for your needs. IMO that would be one you build yourself, to your likings.

The most popular and expensive don't mean their the best.

Best Computer in the world is not invented now.

But in available configuration you choose:-

    Processor Core 2 Duo

    Intel Org Board

    Ram DDR2 1or 2 GB

    200 GB Hard Disk

    DVD dual Layer Writer

    Microsoft Keyboard Mouse

    19' TFT Monitor

    Use HP For branded

    Thanks

As mentioned it will depend largely on what you want to do, and your budget. I run:

    QX6700 quad core oc'd to 3.2ghz

    4gig OCZ gold edition ram

    x1800xtx 512 ATI video

    0x4 36gb SCSI Raid, 10k rpm

    1x Raptor 150gb 10k rpm

    0x2 SATAII 1tb Raid

    1x WD 320gb

    1x WD 250gb

Which will handle about anything I can throw at it, but is it the "world's best?" Doubtful, and it costed nearly $8,000. On the other hand I have 4 other computers with lesser specs that I use daily and only sometimes feel the need to switch to that one. The average user won't use all of a computers power. So you really have to look at what you're after, and how much you have to spend. Usually start with the latter.

honestly, it really depends on what the primary use of your computer is. There are many components of a PC. The main ones are RAM, HD, processor, screen size and type, and drive.

RAM: Random Access Memory has to do with how many applications you're planning to use at one time. It gives you're computer speed to browse between different programs, and open up programs faster.

HD: You're hardrive is the storage part of you're computer. 80 GB would be generally good if you're using your computers mainly for

documents, etc. 100 GB is good for the digital media enthusiast, etc. And I would recommend at least 120GB or 140GB if you partion your hardrive with multiple Operating Systems (such as Mac OS, Windows, etc.)

Screen: How big of a screen you want. Remember, on laptops, bigger screens usually increase weight of a laptop. For desktops, I would recommend a flat screen (they take less space). For notebooks, there are two types of screen formats: glossy and matte. Glossy screens enhance colors, and make darker colors darker. They do however provide glare in direct light. Matte is a regular screen.

Drive: Do you want a CD, DVD drive? How about a CD drive that reads and one you can write to. The same goes for DVD. Also, some have dual-layer support, which basically means they can write more information to a disc (of the same dual-layer (DL) capacity).

Add details about you're planned usage (for what things), and I'll be happy to answer your original question.

    Hope this helps!

Looks like the computer builders have the correct answer. Very rewarding experience and you get just what you want. Plus, it not look like every computer you see. Many different Cases to choose from and then go from there. I have even seen home made cases (Mods) some are one of a kind.

Every computer has it's strong points and it's weak points. You would have better luck asking "Which computer is best for my specific uses such as __________?" (fill in the blank with what you need such as word processing or online games or something like that)

I had a compac and then i bought a dell 310 and I love the thing.. I have dell check and they check it for me when i thinks something is not working right and well I would advise you to look into a dell.. they ask what you use your pc for and they can put one together for you that will be absolutely what you need when you need it.. and it is less expensive too!

Falcon Northwest won C/net review for elite PC category. But it's also the most expensive.
