Dry socket question?

Can you regain a blood if you loose the first one within 5 hours of wisdom teeth extraction? I don't want to get dry socket.

Exact same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago, and the clot re-formed.

Don't clean it for 24 hours but after that use warm salty water every couple of hours to keep it clean.

Stay away from sucking motions - drinking through a straw, smoking etc for at least 24 hours.

You mean a blood clot? Not likely that you will if the dentist has done his/her job properly. So now you need to be careful and make sure you rinse the socket with warm salt water every time you eat. Keeping it clean is the key.

  • Yes, just allow the clot to form. Take it easy, try not to move your tongue or mouth. Take a nap.
