Not true. I was born 8 weeks early and I have had 2 beautiful, healthy baby girls. I am pregnant with my third at the moment. I read somewhere that women who were born premature have an increased risk of their child being born premature. But of course, that isn't set in stone. It all depends on your body and how well you take care of yourself. Then again, sometimes, babies just want to come out early. If you are pregnant, don't stress out. That won't make anything better. Good luck!

Well, it CAN be true in some cases, but definitely not in ALL cases.

What I do know is that women whose mother, sisters, or grandmothers who had preeclampsia during their pregnancies are more likely to also develop preeclampsia as well. And some research shows that men whose mothers had preeclampsia when pregnant with them are somewhat more likely to father a child who is born to a preeclamptic mother...I'm not even sure how that works, but it's still being researched since preeclampsia is still considered somewhat a "mystery disease".

This info is what is normally common, but again, it's not true in ALL cases.

    Source(s): I had severe preeclampsia.
