How do you not get replaced by a video game?

I have been with my husband for 7 years. We have always gone to bed together. Lately he leaves the bedroom at night to play his PS2. I asked him if something is wrong and he says he just isn't tired? What do I do

Well that's a mystery to me because I have no idea why guys (I'm talking about grown behind men) love playing video games soo much. I would just talk to your husband about it.

Let him have time to play it earlier than bedtime. My husband also has the PS2 as "the other woman" and he plays 1-2 hours a day, but not at bedtime. Boys and their toys, right? He needs to get it out of his system and have what I call "cave time" because men are still cavemen and need time to stare at the horizon every day. You know that look.....mouth open, blank stare and hands on the control, makes you wonder what you were thinking 7 years ago, doesn't it? :) He's probably really involved in something that builds points or has a goal that he *has* to reach. Men....always having to prove themselves. We love em. He's not neglecting or rejecting you, he's being a guy.

I wouldn't worry about it. My husband likes to stay up late some nights and I will go to bed, other nights he will go to bed before me. I have found with my husband that he will want to constantly play a game until he has beaten it. Just leave your husband alone, at least he is at home!

If the noise doesn't bother you too much, why not move the PS2 into the bedroom so he can at least be near you while he is playing the game. He could even put the TV on mute.

Play the game with him. I hated video games until I met my husband. He loves them. I figured this is something that we may be able to do together. I play now and it's fun. I recommend Need For Speed, Most Wanted.

He might need some downtime alone, or he might have a sleep issue. If you two still have a healthy relationship otherwise and the PS2 doesn't get in the way of sex, don't worry too much about it.

Just go to sleep and don't worry if he wants to stay up for a bit. He may be your husband, but needs some time for himself, too.

Go to sleep and let him play his game....if he really isn't tired, it isn't fair to make him stay in bed awake. Have you tried talking to him about it?
