What does <3 mean? I see it everywhere?

Its probably something really obvious but I havent been able to figure it out...

    it means a heart and </3 means a broken heart hope that helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi. Mathematically it means 'less than 3' but it is also an icon for a human body part. Feminine.

    it's a heart. like if you look at it sideways, it kind of looks like one... kind of. <3 like the three is the thing at the top and the arrow is the pointy bottom.. haha stupid i know

    It simply is just a heart.
