For the points? For the opportunity to say something witty and earn the "Best Answer" prize or one of those fancy "Top Contributor" badges? Because they're bored? To feel a little less isolated? Your guess is as good as mine.

There are lots of people, (unfortunately), that will just say anything just for the points.
Personally though, I don't see many intelligent questions here either! Most are infantile!
