Birthing Day gift suggestions?
I need suggestions for things to put into a care package for my wife when she goes into the Hospital to give birth to the latest addition to our family in 3 weeks. We've done the whole baby shower thing so, this is stuff that will make her feel more "appreciated" whilst in the hospital recovering. Any ideas would be awesome.....Thanks!
WOW, thanks for all the great suggestions . I like the idea of the coupons but, I already do all of the housework and cooking for her so, I'd have to be creative. I've got Flowers already arranged and a spa day with dinner 2 days before delivery. I wish I could choose you all for your answers but, I get I have to pick one!
I forgot to mention as well, we both work for the hospital our daughter Cerys is being born at so, we've got a smidge of pull there too :o)

Wow! WTG hubby, you will get major props for this! Make sure you put practical things in there. Put some things that she is going to wish she had packed for the stay, but didnt. Such as:
Perfume (when u give birth u dont feel too sexy and some perfume will help)
Some candy (hospital meals...are horrible)
If you are going to be around to help with the baby when you get home from the hospital...make up a little coupon book....put things like Free back massage....Free 1 hour break to do whatever u would like.....Night off from cooking dinner......day off from doing laundry
Just simple things that should be doing anyways, but these kinda things are huge helpers and very sweet at same time

Okay....here are some ideas.
If you have a portable DVD player pack that. If not,...borrow one from a friend for your wife's hospital stay. Go by blockbluster and rent some new releases your wife has not yet seen. This is great the night the baby is born....most women are restless and get tired of watching the Hospital stations!!
A roll of quarters for the hospital vending machines....because your wife might want a candy bar instead of hospital food or crackers!! Also...if she likes a particular beverage pack some of that, too!
Cater a meal in just for the two of you the night the baby is born!! Arrange it, ahead of time, with your favorite nice restaurant. Tell them what you are planning....they will probably be thrilled to help. Enlist another family member to go pick it up and bring it to you. If your wife's room is too small....see if the hospital staff will help you out with this, too!
I think it is GREAT that you are thinking of your wife. I'm jealous....my husband is absoltely wonderful but he never did anything like this.
Very sweet!!

Wow! Such a thoughtful husband! Well from personal experience I can tell you she will be feeling kind of icky and not at all sexy or desireable. How about a nice bath gel set? Something in her favorite scent? Maybe some new slippers (Isotoners are WONDERFUL, they have a rubber tread on the bottom). Maybe a nice new robe. A bottle of her favorite scent. Lotion would be nice, I don't know about everyone else but my skin always dries out badly after giving birth. Hope I've helped!

That was so sweet of you!
Don't forget to put in your digital camera. It's nice to save some photos of the ultimate moment of your new baby right at the delivery room.
You can also bring her favorite beauty kit so she can pamper herselft after delivery, to get ready for visitors.
Arrange for a bouquet of flowers to be delivered at her room the moment she is released from OR/RR.
Good luck and best wishes on your new bundle of joy!

Some goodies for a midnight snack. Pack up cheese and crackers, a bottled drink, a candy bar or mints, a Lady's magazine, and a picture of the family so she can see everybody while she's in the hospital.

How approximately making a selfmade card on your husband. you're able to write something particular on your husband and then get some non-poisonous paint and positioned your infant's hand and footprints in the cardboard. that's unique, low priced and nevertheless an invaluable memory!

put things for her in the bag. sometimes new moms get lost in the excitement of the new baby. a hallmark card just to say i love you and the mother and baby pendant to give her after the birth to say thank you. also, slippers and a pretty gown for mom would be nice

my husband brought me all my favourite comfort foods and drinks especially the ones I couldn't eat during pregnancy. (You are not allowed to eat until after you give birth) Also my personal talismon, which was a little doll keychain that I always had on my person for good luck. Seeing it was very comforting.
