You can use programs like folder security professional or the award winning folder lock. Both offer encyption and can limit access to specific drives. Also they can hide them so noone would no are there and I believe they have the option to even hide how much memory is used up in folders and drives.

There are many free software apps that do this as well.
This package allows you to encrypt individual files and folders as well as creating virtual disks that encrypt all the file contents. This can be done on your hard disk or your pen drive.
If you are buying a new usb flash drive take a look at one with the enrcyption features built in like the Kingston Data Traveler

The program in this link works well. You can hide a folder and/or lock it with a password, which is pretty cool.
Though, it does cost some money, as almost all security programs do nowadays.

If you wanna protect a file or folder with a password then i'd recommend using Winrar. It will compress ur file/folder and if u may select to password it so that everytime someone extracts the file/folder, the password would have to be entered.
