Vonage problem - can't use cordless phone?
I just signed up for Vonage. I bought a cordless phone, seeing as how I'm using a wireless network, why tie myself down, right? But when I use the cordless phone with the wireless network, the wi-fi drops out completely! (I'm on a Mac, with an Airport.)
Vonage customer service said that my cordless phone was on the same frequency as the wireless (hunh?) and using a regular plug-in phone did work. But how in the world do I - as customer service suggested - change the frequency on my Airport so they don't conflict?
Any ideas? Thanks!

Wi-Fi uses the 2.4ghz set of frequencies, so if you phone uses the them as well, then they will interfere. Your solution would be to buy a 5.8ghz cordless phone, and leave your 2.4ghz unplugged.

We have Vonage and use the Apple Airport Extreme for our home network. We replaced our phones with GE 5.8 cordless phones and have no problems. You can not change the frequency of the Airport. Spend $35 and purchase a 5.8 cordless. You will have smooth sailing.
