  • Which tax service is best?

This is the first time I've ever needed professional help to prepare my income tax return. (I guess that's a good thing.) But I don't know which service to use. H&R Block? Jackson Hewitt? Some other one? My taxed aren't super complicated, just more than I want to handle on my own and I was just wondering if anyone had recommendations for a service to use. Thanks!

  • HP C3180 - how to check ink levels?

How do I check the ink levels on my HP C3180? I want to know if I need to buy color ink today - or just black! I don't know how to check that. (Also, I use a Mac.)

Isn't there a button or simple command to print a test page?

    Thanks!

  • Volvo sometimes doesn't start?

I have a 2000 Volvo S40. In September, the radiator and the cylinder head gasket both went kaput and I spent an arm and a leg fixing it. So now I'm constantly terrified something's going wrong with the car.

But since I took it in for work, the engine doesn't always turn over right away when I start it, sometimes taking a little longer, sometimes not starting at all right away (turn key, indicator lights on, nothing else) but then starting on the next try.

Any idea what this could be? Could they have done something when they were rebuilding my engine? Is it something easy to correct? Or should I fester in a big pit of anxiety? Just wondering how to calibrate my freak-out, thanks!

  • Philadelphia airport taxi service?

So, I'm heading back home for Christmas, and due to various crazy travel plans and arrival times, for the first time ever no one will be able to pick me up at the airport in Philadelphia.

I've never needed ground transportation there before - I'm heading to Delaware County and it seems like taxis are the only option.

Is the taxi service reliable? Is any one company recommended? Will there be cabs waiting around midnight when I get in, or do I need to make a reservation? Any idea how much the fare might be to Springfield/Morton?

    Thanks!

  • Police car serpentine on the freeway?

This might be a strange question, but a few times when I've been driving on the freeway in L.A. I've noticed a police car doing a serpentine across all the lanes, deliberately slowing or even stopping traffic.

Is this to slow traffic down because there is an accident ahead? A police chase? Something else, perhaps? Just wondering!

  • California - is it legal for attorney to contact you and not insurance company after auto accident?

I was involved in a minor car accident - I scraped a parked car as I was pulling out. I called the cops, and provided my insurance information, and reported it to my carrier the day of the accident. I have gotten letters from an attorney representing the guy whose car I damaged, and I think this is illegal. Why would he contact me directly when he has my insurance information?

I want to know if this is legal, and if it's not, how can I complain to the state bar association?

  • Vonage problem - can't use cordless phone?

I just signed up for Vonage. I bought a cordless phone, seeing as how I'm using a wireless network, why tie myself down, right? But when I use the cordless phone with the wireless network, the wi-fi drops out completely! (I'm on a Mac, with an Airport.)

Vonage customer service said that my cordless phone was on the same frequency as the wireless (hunh?) and using a regular plug-in phone did work. But how in the world do I - as customer service suggested - change the frequency on my Airport so they don't conflict?

    Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Why don't people go to the movies as much as they used to?

Personally, I always like going the first weekend, if I can. I hate hearing about movies from other people, and I like going out when there's a full theatre and getting some popcorn.

But they keep saying ticket sales are down. Why aren't people going to the movies as much these days? Is it waiting for the DVD, or illegal downloads, or the movies just suck, or the theatres suck?

  • Music and Lyrics - first five minutes?

I was late and missed the very beginning of "Music and Lyrics" with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. I came in when Alex was at a conference table talking about the celebrity boxing show...What happened before that?
